What a treatment building asks of its cleaners

A residential program is a home, a clinic and an office at once, and each part needs a different touch. Resident rooms call for discretion, shared showers for thorough sanitation, group rooms for a quick turnaround and the lobby for polish. San Jose Commercial Cleaning Co brings all of that under one plan, so your program staff never have to choose between client care and keeping up the building.

We put the plan together on a site visit with your director or facilities lead. Each area of the building is written up with its tasks and how often they happen: bedrooms, counseling and group spaces, the dining area with its kitchenette, bathrooms and showers, staff and counseling offices, the entry and the family visiting space. The written plan travels with the crew on every shift.

San Jose’s treatment network

San Jose’s largest treatment programs are residential recovery and detox units.

Between those larger sites are sober living homes in residential neighborhoods, outpatient clinics in office buildings and county programs downtown. Each type of building gets a plan sized to it.

Living quarters and bathrooms

Bedrooms are cleaned while residents are at group or meals, never around them. The crew dusts surfaces and window ledges, wipes door handles and light switches, empties the bin and does the floor. Nothing personal is opened, rearranged or thrown out.

Shared bathrooms and showers get the longest stop on the route. Tile and grout are scrubbed, drains are cleared, toilets, sinks and grab bars are disinfected and chrome is polished dry. Supplies are refilled with our stock or yours, and our restroom deep cleaning adds a periodic top-to-bottom pass on tile, partitions and fixtures.

Program rooms and the dining area

Group rooms and counseling spaces are tidied between sessions or at the end of the program day. Seating is wiped and vacuumed, side tables and door hardware are cleaned, flip charts and supplies are straightened and the floor is finished, so the next group meets in a room that feels settled.

Dining rooms and kitchenettes handle every meal plus snacks and coffee in between. Tabletops, chairs, counters, the sink, appliance fronts and the microwave interior are cleaned, and trash and recycling are taken to the outdoor bins. A full program kitchen can be added, with its floor, drain and wall work scheduled separately.

Protocols, products and terminal cleans

Your facility’s infection-control protocol is the rulebook. Your clinical or operations lead names the rooms to disinfect, how often, the order of work and any products that are off limits, and the crew’s checklist follows it exactly. We disinfect with EPA-registered products, leaving each on the surface for the full contact period listed on its label.

When a resident discharges, schedule a terminal clean. The room is worked from the top down, starting at vents, light fixtures and door frames and finishing at the baseboards and floor, leaving it prepared for whoever is admitted next. Our disinfection and sanitizing service can add touchpoint rounds between full visits.

Conduct around residents and records

Crew members complete bloodborne-pathogen safety instruction and keep to HIPAA-aware conduct on site. Crews leave charts, intake paperwork and medication schedules alone, never step into a session in progress and keep what they overhear to themselves. Every cleaner is background-checked, and our supervisors visit for quality inspections against your written plan.

Residents see a crew that is polite, brief and focused. Carts are parked out of the way, chemicals are locked up or kept within arm’s reach, and house staff are told which rooms are being worked. Counselor offices and outpatient rooms usually wait until the final appointment of the day.

Entries, offices and cost factors

The entry and visiting room are where families and referral partners form their view of your program. Front glass, the reception counter and visitor chairs are cleaned every visit, and the guest restroom is cleaned and refilled. Crews dust and vacuum staff offices and wipe a desk only when it has been cleared. Worn vinyl and tile in hallways can be restored through commercial floor care.

The quote is built from your square footage, the bedroom and bathroom count, visit frequency, the disinfection your protocol requires, how often terminal cleans are booked and any daytime porter time. We walk the building with your director and send it in writing.

A few useful answers

Common questions.

Is it possible to clean resident rooms without disrupting residents?

Yes. The crew uses group and meal times for bedrooms, and nothing personal is moved.

Can your crew follow our facility's disinfection protocol?

Yes. The checklist mirrors your protocol, and EPA-registered products stay on surfaces for the full contact period on their labels.

Do you handle terminal cleans after discharge?

Yes. After a discharge, the crew works the room from vents and light fixtures down to the baseboards so it can be reassigned.

Will cleaners have access to resident files?

No. Crews keep to HIPAA-aware conduct, leave charts and intake paperwork untouched and stay out of sessions.
