One building, three very different jobs

A San Jose manufacturing building is rarely just a factory floor. Electronics and hardware assembly shops, machine shops, contract manufacturers and R&D buildings that turn prototypes into small production runs all pack offices, a customer lobby, employee support rooms and the production space under a single roof. Offices, support rooms and production space collect different kinds of mess, so the cleaning plan lists them separately.

The office side looks like any professional workplace and is judged the same way. The support side, meaning locker rooms, restrooms and the break room, takes the wear of every employee on every shift. The production side runs on the plant’s own rules, and the crew works there only in the areas and at the times your managers set.

Locker rooms, showers and the time-clock corridor

Shift workers start and finish their day in the locker room, so it gets heavy use twice per shift. Crews clean benches, locker fronts and handles, shower stalls and the floor drains around them, sinks and mirrors, and the toilets and urinals. Bins are emptied and floors are mopped edge to edge, including under the benches where grit settles.

The corridor past the time clock collects boot traffic straight off the shop floor. That stretch gets swept and mopped on every visit, and the time-clock keypad, badge readers and door push plates are wiped, since every employee passes them coming and going.

Break rooms that serve around the clock

Where a plant works multiple shifts, its break room rarely sits empty for long. Crews wipe tables and chair seats, clean the sink, microwaves and refrigerator handles, wipe the fronts of the vending machines and empty the recycling. Floors under the tables are cleaned instead of skipped around.

When the night shift needs the room reset before the morning crew arrives, a day or night porter can cover it mid-shift. If you would also like the coffee station, snacks and drinks kept stocked, that can be added through breakroom and pantry restocking.

Shop-floor aisles under your plant rules

Production areas join the plan only where you open them. Before the first visit, your safety lead walks the crew through the marked walkways, the PPE required in each zone and any area that needs a sign-in. The crew then follows those written rules on every visit.

Inside the opened zones, crews sweep and mop aisles and walkways, empty trash at workstations and clean the restrooms nearest the line. Machines, fixtures, tooling and work in progress stay exactly as the operators left them. For sealed or bare concrete aisles, concrete floor scrubbing can be booked through commercial floor care on a schedule that avoids forklift traffic.

Rooms with controlled-environment requirements, such as a cleanroom or a test lab, are handled on their own procedure, described on our cleanroom and lab cleaning page.

Front office, conference rooms and the customer lobby

Customers, auditors and new hires often see the lobby and the conference room before anything else. Crews dust and wipe desks in engineering, quality and purchasing offices, clean conference tables and whiteboard trays, vacuum carpet, and keep the lobby glass and reception counter clean. Drawings, parts samples and paperwork on desks are left untouched.

Before a customer visit or audit, a one-time detail clean of the lobby, conference rooms and restrooms can be added to the regular schedule.

Planned shutdowns and line moves

A holiday shutdown or a scheduled maintenance week is the best time for bigger work. With the floor quiet, crews can scrub concrete aisles throughout the plant, strip the old finish from office and break-room VCT and lay down new coats, and clean the support rooms top to bottom. Send us the shutdown dates and the zones that will be open, and the work is booked into that window.

When a new line goes in or a section of the building is rebuilt, a post-construction cleaning visit removes contractor grit and leftover packaging so the area is ready when production restarts.

What your vendor file needs from us

Plants usually want paperwork before a new contractor badges in. Our company holds insurance and bonding, workers’ compensation covers our cleaners, and a certificate of insurance is issued for every client. Anyone assigned to your building has passed a background check. Supervisor inspection walks then compare the finished rooms with your plan. Share your onboarding and safety documents at the walkthrough, and the crew’s route is written around them.

A few useful answers

Common questions.

Will your crew follow our plant's safety orientation and PPE rules?

Yes. Your safety lead shows the crew the walkways, PPE and restricted zones at the start, and those written rules are followed on every visit.

Can you scrub the concrete in our production aisles?

Yes. Concrete floor scrubbing is scheduled for the aisles and walkways you open, at a time when forklifts and carts are parked.

We run three shifts. When does cleaning happen?

Visits go into the gap your schedule allows, often a weekend window, and a porter can keep locker rooms and break rooms in shape while shifts run.

Can a deeper clean be scheduled during our annual shutdown?

Yes. Give us the dates and the zones that will be open, and floor scrubbing, refinishing and full support-room cleaning are planned into that week.

Can the crew clean before a customer audit?

Yes. Give us the audit date, and a detail clean of the lobby, conference rooms and restrooms is added ahead of the visit.
